ABOUT ME
Aloha! I am a makeup and hair stylist on the beautiful island of Oahu, Hawaii. I was born and raised on Guam and moved to Hawaii in 2004. I am a spouse to a U.S. Army Veteran and a mommy of two beautiful children. My foundational values in life are faith, family, and freedom. I love meeting new people from around the world and looking for ways to serve others as best as I can with the gifts I have been blessed with. I have always loved playing with makeup and styling my hair since I was four years old. I remember playing with my mom's lipstick and saving up my monetary gifts just to buy makeup for kids. My family and close friends have known that I've always loved makeup and hairstyling for as long as they knew me. So, I decided use that passion and gift to serve others.
I began my professional journey in the beauty industry in 2006. I worked at a high fashion photo studio for over ten years where we did hair and makeup styling prior to taking photos for our clients. This was where I established the foundation of my knowledge and skills in the arts through the company's incredible on-the-job-training.I began expanding my skills set and experience through providing freelance services for hair and makeup styling on location in 2007 for various types of occasions. Such occasions included weddings, pageants, proms, birthday parties, balls, and other special events. Since then, I turned that hobby into a professional business - Simply Glamorous by Hermelyn. I greatly enjoy providing these services and I am privileged to be part of these special events. Most of all, I love meeting new people and creating memories with them through enhancing their natural beauty with hair and makeup styling that boosts self-confidence!
